SOLIHULL, UK (20th November, 2018) – Michael Lancashire, author of the Architect series of crime novels for adults, has written his first spy book for children, Killer Game, and is offering all children in Birmingham and Solihull schools a free copy.

Killer Game, the first in a series of espionage thrillers starring teenage super-spy Jack Hawke, will be released for sale on 30th November, 2018. It will be available free to schoolchildren in Birmingham and Solihull schools from that date. Michael says:

Reading has brought me such joy over my life. I wanted to remove as many barriers as possible to getting children reading, so my wife and I decided that we would give every child where we grew up a free ebook. Parents tend to think of paperbacks when buying children’s books but so many kids these days have smartphones or tablets why not meet them where they’re at?”

In an effort to excite more reluctant, young readers Lancashire has kept all of the action and trademark twists he uses in his adult fiction but combined them with a more accessible style.

“It’s aimed primarily at kids aged ten and upwards but I’ve shared early copies with some of the fans of my adult writing and the feedback has all been brilliant!”

Killer Game tells the story of how, after 14 year old Jack Hawke is blackmailed into working for the UK’s most top secret spy organisation, he has to stop a dastardly plan at the producer of the world’s coolest new video game.
It has all the excitement, explosions and gadgets you’d expect from a Bond film with none of the sex or innuendo!

Any school child in Birmingham or Solihull can download a free copy by visiting http://www.sannox.org.uk/jack-hawke-freeforbham (and of course, parents can do it on their child’s behalf if preferred).

Michael Lancashire is the author of four previous full length heist novels for adults, The Voynich Deception, The Fourth TargetAlmost Out, and Trapped as well as a prequel novella and a number of short stories.

UK (7th September, 2018) – Michael Lancashire, author of the Architect series of crime novels, has today released Trapped, his latest thriller featuring the criminal mastermind, the Architect.

Trapped is inspired by the legal battles that have raged over the ownership of the technology in smartphones since they were introduced. Michael says:

“These massive tech companies have been waging a back and forth legal war against each other for a decade and, apart from very occasional glimpses in the news, most of us are totally unaware of it. I wondered what would happen if one of them went further than the newspapers are telling us; if they tried to end it once for and all by hiring a criminal mastermind… I’ve never understood why it was that heist films are so popular but since the likes of Donald Westlake stopped writing there has been so little to entertain readers in this genre.”

Trapped uses Lancashire’s trademark twists and his criminal genius main character’s ‘plans within plans’ to full effect, demonstrating how he has earned the epithet, ‘Master of the Heist’.

Released initially in ebook form on Amazon to meet the needs of his existing dedicated readership, paperback and listings on other sites will follow shortly through September.

Michael Lancashire is the author of three previous full length novels featuring the Architect, The Voynich Deception, The Fourth Target and Almost Out, as well as a prequel novella and a number of short stories.
